About Us!

Our mission is to offer Quality Parts, Machine work, and Automotive Services, while growing our business and enabling our employees and customers to benefit from our experience, business ethic, and dedication to the Automotive Industry.

Engine Service Inc. was formed in 1983 by David Adair and became a division of Lake City Auto Parts, also owned by David, a Seattle NAPA Jobber Store since 1944. Lake City Auto Parts was a spinoff of Cedar Park Motors started in 1923 in Lake City by David’s grandfather Robert Adair Sr. and then owned and operated by David’s father Bob Jr.

With the move to our new location in early 2007 the NAPA Store became an IBS Store (integrated Business Supply) within Engine Service Inc. As before we were a big NAPA Store with a Machine Shop and now we are a Machine Shop and Auto Care Center with a NAPA Parts department built in. In 2004 Lake City Auto Care became an addition to Engine Service Inc. and round out our parts, service and machine operations group, Quality Parts and Service.

David Adair and his wife Debbie own the NAPA IBS, and in 2007 Bill Nash, who was an employee at Lake City Auto Parts, bought into Engine Service Inc. and now is part owner in that business. Bill runs the Front parts and machine shop counter at our location. Bill has many years experience having started out working in a machine shop in Spokane back in the 70’s. After several years working in the legal profession Bill got back to his real passion, building hot rods and hot engines. Bill and his wife Nancy live in Bellevue where she teaches school.

David Adair has been in the industry all his life. Working for his dad Bob Adair after school and Saturdays in all aspects of the business growing up. After college and marriage in the 70’s, David and his wife Debbie bought the family business keeping the heritage alive for the 3rd generation and the rest is history as they say. Dave and Debbie have 2 grown boys Aaron and Brady.

David has been active in the community as past president of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of directors for over 25 years as his father and grandfather had done. Has been a member of the Yancey C. Blalock Masonic Lodge in Lake City for 28 years. David has been active in many industry organizations as well, including past chairman of Washington Automotive Wholesalers Association (WAWA) and has served on the board of directors of AERA (Automotive Engines Rebuilders Association). David holds ASE Certificates in Auto Parts, Auto Engine Repairs and Master Machinist Categories. He also is a current advisory committee member of the North shore School districts Automotive Technology Program.
